Nalin Yeşilbaş
I was born in Kurtalan, Siirt. My artistic journey began with training from painter Ataman Oğuz before my academic career. I later completed my master's degree at Marmara University in 2023. During this period, my works were exhibited at significant artistic platforms such as 2023 BASE, followed by 2024 Bazaart, Galeri Beylikdüzü, IUSD, and Merqezart Günyüzü Artists, and were included in private collections. In my artistic practice, apart from some special abstract series, I primarily explore movement and speed through the sfumato technique, which involves delicate, blurred, and transparent layers of paint, along with figurative paintings. Thematically, my work draws from the illusions and dreams of my inner world. "Illusions are the beginning of everything we can imagine; to imagine is the first step of creation. Therefore, the illusions of our inner world are the creators of our outer world. A person's mind shapes their reality; hence, illusions are important because they are the first steps in creating reality." For this reason, I generally approach my imaginary themes in a realistic style on canvas. I am actively continuing my painting practice in my home studio in Istanbul as a dreamy, passionate, and hopeful artist, developing my skills with positive emotions.
